Page guide - Series
Our Data Catalogue contains a full study description (Details tab) for each dataset and also provides access to online documentation (Documentation tab), resources (Resources tab) and access conditions (Access tab).
The Details tab provides information such as title, study number, PID, series, principal investigator, sponsors, contributors, topics, keywords, abstract, coverage and methodology, citation and copyright, the edition history, and the DOI.
The Documentation tab includes, for example, user guides that contain information on how to use the data, how the data were collected, and usually the original questionnaires or topic guides. Online variable lists provide the variable names and variable and value labels.
The Resources tab provides links to resources such as related studies and publications.
The Access data button contains information on the conditions of access for a dataset and links to add a dataset to your account. If you are not logged in, you will find a link to register/log in at the bottom of the Access tab—once logged in you can add the dataset to your account.
You need to register with the UK Data Service to access most of the data (although some open data are available without registration). Anyone can register for our service, but access to our resources may differ depending on your affiliation. Once you have added a dataset to your account, go to the My Account area to assign it to a project and access. All datasets need to be assigned to a project before you can access/download them.
